What Is SEO– A Simple Primer To Understanding The Basics Of Optimization

What is SEO is probably the most common question every site owner asks after launching their website. The answer is simple – you have created a website, but it is not going to show up in search engine page rankings (SERP) unless some effort is put into it. That process of bringing it to the top of SERP is known as SEO or search engine optimization.

The process, however, is not so simple and can take months to achieve. Do not be discouraged because it is a relatively straightforward process consisting of a few well-defined steps.

The SEO Strategy For Your Website To Rank Higher

Seo is the key to rank your website higher on the search engine. So we should have some knowledge of SEO. This technique can help you to get the result. Now we will describe the process briefly.

  • The choice of keywords

This phase is fundamental. Any SEO activity turns out to be meaningless if an accurate analysis of the keywords to choose for your campaign is not carried out before. The search for the best keywords can be carried out with specific software tools and competitive analysis.

For the success of an SEO campaign it is advisable to select keywords that are not too general, as it would be very difficult or even impossible to achieve excellent results in short time, but not too specific, since, if they are not searched for, they generate little or no traffic.

  • On-page SEO

On-page SEO is the set of optimization activities within the pages of a site. It has two major parts –

  1. Optimization of the HTML code

Each website is made up of an HTML source code that is read by the browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, etc.) and presents the site in the way we see it. The optimization of the code is, therefore, the activity of optimizing the “invisible” parts to the user, but which affect the site’s ranking.

Of particular importance are some tags that form the code, such as the title tag  – which can be seen in the top part of the browser when we open a web page, and in the SERP linked to our page – which serves to specify the title of a particular page.

     2. Content Optimization

The content is actually the most crucial part of the SEO. We all know that content is the king. So we have to be very careful while writing content. We have to keep in mind that the content should be well optimized and simple. If the content is not simple for the readers then it will be tough to rank higher on the search result.

  • Off-page SEO

The answer to what is SEO does not stop within the boundaries of your site.

Although it is essential to have optimized pages, this is rarely enough to achieve the desired results. Off-page optimization (outside your pages), primarily concerns the management of links on other sites that link to yours.

One of the main factors affecting Google’s ranking is the number of links pointing to a site. However, the importance of a website is not entirely calculated on the number of links received. Google also considers the importance of the page the link came from. A link from a page of an authoritative site is worth more than one from a poor quality site. It is therefore theoretically possible to rank better than a competitor with fewer links if these are of sufficiently high quality.

There is no formula that will propel your website to the top of search rankings if only you spend enough money. A domain rank on Search engines based on its trustworthiness. However, with more and more SEO activity, the page begins a slow but steady movement up the page rankings.
